Storage Location Index & Labels
Keep a searchable list of items and locations, then export a backup or print a location list.
BEFORE YOU START
Find the item. Keep the record.
The starting records are labeled demonstrations, not your inventory. Remove them before entering your own items. Add an item, quantity, room and cupboard or box ID. Shelf and notes are optional. Use Edit / move to change a location after you move an object.
Records stay in memory unless you choose Save in this browser. Deleting the saved browser copy does not erase the current in-memory list. Export JSON before closing the page if you need a backup. Printing uses your current search, grouped by room, box and shelf; clear the search to print everything.
Example and file format
Search Study to see the illustrative cable and craft locations. Move the cable record to BX-04 with Edit / move, then search BX-04. Each saved JSON record has id, name, quantity, room, box, shelf, notes and demo fields. Quantity is a positive whole number. Imports accept at most 500 records and 500 KB; invalid imports keep the existing index. Missing optional shelf or notes fields become empty text.
Keep the record useful
Use a stable ID on the physical box, such as BX-04, and put changing contents in the index. Do not store passwords or sensitive documents here. This is a local browser tool with no login, cloud sync or inventory upload. Browser clearing, private browsing and device changes can lose local records. A JSON export is a separate backup under your control.
